The sky is blue
as if Good News is waiting for me
It should be a clue
that God’s promise has different color
than my heart bears
Down here
I look up the bright sky
with my hands and feet in dirt
Why did I have doubt
that tomorrow follows today
and Spring chases Winter?
Ah! The cool breeze
cracks the hard shell of my heart.
